WeatherCurrents Contributes Hourly Data From Seven More Sites to the National Weather Service

This week WeatherCurrents.com began contributing hourly weather reports for most of the remainder of its local communities in Riverside County to the National Weather Service. The NWS is now receiving hourly reports for Lake Elsinore, Hemet, San Jacinto, Riverside, Moreno Valley, Wildomar and Perris. Reports were previously sent for the Temecula, Murrieta, Fallbrook and Menifee weather stations. Data from the De Luz weather station is not currently being sent, and only because the station is awaiting repairs. WeatherCurrents.com is currently providing a very large percentage of independent data (collectively called the Mesonet) for western Riverside County. Data from these stations has improved the forecast predictions for the area over the past three years. WeatherCurrents' daily forecasts are usually based on slight modifications to the NWS point forecasts, which in turn are based on computer weather models with local modifications by NWS meteorologists. |
