By Reginald Stanley. Posted March 25, 2024, 3:48 PM.A passing cold front brought scattered showers and gusty winds to the region Saturday and Sunday, with the brunt of the precipitation falling on Saturday alone. Storm totals were mostly below what was initially forecast, as the storm's inside track resulted in a lot more gusty winds than rain for much of the region. Some communities did not receive any measurable rain at all on Sunday, as shower activity was largely confined to San Diego County and north of Los Angeles County. Gusty winds, mainly in the 20-30 MPH range across the inland valleys, dominated the weekend. Simi Valley led storm totals this weekend with 0.44 inches, all of which fell on Saturday as a shortwave passed through the region. South Fallbrook followed with 0.35 inches. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.32 inches was reported through the end of Sunday (courtesy of Jim Sappington). On the lower end of storm totals included Pinon Hills where only 0.09 inches fell. A slight chance of showers is possible for some areas, mainly San Diego County, overnight Monday into Tuesday - any precipitation is expected to be very light. A potentially significant storm may be in store for the region late in the week. Here are the rain totals for the WeatherCurrents network and associates:
