The second late season storm in a week added between a third of an inch to more than an inch of rainfall to seasonal totals that continue to lag behind normal.
Rainfall was heavy at times across the region, generally heavier than the first storm, causing some minor flooding in some areas.
Most of the rainfall was light to moderate however, beginning in the afternoon hours in San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, and ending in the early morning hours.
Simi Valley, to the west, got a burst of rain in the morning and once again led the way with 1.09", and became the second WeatherCurrents community to surpass 10" for the season to date. The season began on July 1st, 2011.
In the Inland Empire, the highest totals were in Murrieta (0.83"), Lake Elsinore (0.81"), San Bernardino (0.80"), De Luz (0.78"), Fallbrook (0.78"), and Temecula (0.77").
The lowest totals were recorded in Perris (0.29"), Menifee (0.35") and Riverside (Canyon Crest) (0.41").
Down south, San Diego's City Heights neighborhood received 0.29".
The two storms were enough to send April rainfall totals to above normal in most locations. A final April storm, due April 25th and 26th, has a subtropical tap and appears likely to significantly add to rainfall for the year. Depending on how intense the storm ends up being, up to five more WeatherCurrents communities could exceed 10" for the season.
