Sunday afternoon showers produced more snow and graupel below Southern California's mountain ranges.

Graupel is actually soft hail, and is often mistaken for snow. It sometimes looks like snow on the ground. Today's confirmed graupel events include a round in Hemet in the 2pm hour, and a round in South Temecula (the Vail Ranch area) just before 1am this morning.

There is snow along most of the foothills this afternoon, including some on the Santa Rosa Plateau, along the Ortega Highway and the Santa Ana mountains in Riverside County, and some to the south along Highway 79 South, in the Warner Springs area in San Diego County.

Snow levels earlier this morning fell to just around 2,000 feet.
