A cutoff low brought unsettled, somewhat wet weather to the region early this week, mostly on Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.
Storm totals varied but were mostly light across much of the region, ranging from no measurable precipitation at all in northwestern Murrieta and San Jacinto to as high as 1.41 inches in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas). The majority of WeatherCurrents stations received less than 0.25 inches, averaging around 0.1 inch or less. Exceptions to this rule were Fallbrook and Simi Valley, both of which recorded modest totals of 0.41 and 0.37 inches, respectively. A total of 0.37 inches was also reported in Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer), while 0.20 inches was reported in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington). To the east, Anza recorded 0.23 inches, after which storm totals for the remaining WeatherCurrents stations drop off considerably - to 0.15 inches in south Temecula and less elsewhere. Northwestern Murrieta and San Jacinto were missed by the storm, where either a trace or no rain fell at both locations. Measurable precipitation was recorded in other parts of Murrieta, however.
Warmer temperatures, accompanied by Santa Ana Winds, were forecast to become dominant in the region late in the week, drying the region out once again. No additional rain chances are currently in the forecast.
