Our San Jacinto station received 0.13" of rain early this morning as a very active thunderstorm blew through the area. Much of Hemet and the surrounding communites also reported brief but heavy rainfall during the storm, though our Hemet station and the areas of Eastern Hemet were left dry.

At dawn, most of the remaining cells were in the eastern sky, and predictions had them moving to the north. Brief heavy rain remain possible across the inland valleys, and it is possible that some thunderstorms might make it all the way to the coast.

The threat of thunderstorms Thursday is expected to slowly diminish over the day, ending tonight. Some eastern areas, such as the San Jacinto Valley, may still be subject to showers or thunderstorms Friday.

The thunderstorm activity comes on the heels of the hottest day of the year in Southern California.
