A slow-moving cutoff low pressure system, the same one responsible for the region's unsettled weather for the past few days, is forecast to bring increasing light showers to much of the region Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

Precipitation has already been recorded at eight different WeatherCurrents stations as of Monday afternoon, with more on the way. Predicted storm totals across the region range from anywhere between only a trace of rain to 0.2 inches, with locally higher amounts for favorable foothill and mountain locations through Tuesday morning. In East Highland, a relatively high 0.96 inches had already been reported as of 4 PM Monday (courtesy of Peter Michas). In the WeatherCurrents network, Simi Valley has so far recorded the highest totals (0.33 inches as of 5 PM Monday) with far lesser amounts elsewhere, mainly under 0.1 inch. Some stations had yet to record anything measurable Monday afternoon. although greater chances of precipitation are forecast overnight.

Later in the week, a ridge of high pressure is forecast to dry the region out again with weak-to-moderate Santa Ana Winds.
