The new De Luz weather station location will be near Sandia Creek Road and Carancho Road, about two miles west of Ross Lake and De Luz Heights. The location is close to the San Diego County line in southern De Luz.

The current De Luz weather station is northwest of the Cross Creek Golf Club, near the intersection of Rancho California Road and Calle Capistrano.

Because there is a substantial difference in location from the current north De Luz location to the new location (about six miles), we will consider it to be a new location. The one and a half years of data from north De Luz will continue to be available from the web site, but the new southern station will be considered to be a distinct data set.

We are hoping to have the new De Luz location transmitting later this month. The data stream from the current De Luz location will end by June 25th.

Steve Rhodes has regularly contributed rainfall data from his south De Luz home to WeatherCurrents over the past two years. His weather setup includes a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station.

Sue and Dave Painter will be taking their weather station to Lyons, Colorado (near Boulder), where they are planning to continue to contribute to the WeatherCurrents network.
