Deep marine layer brings light rain to some areas Friday

By Reginald Stanley. Posted November 25, 2023, 11:08 PM.

Low pressure and a deep marine layer brought light rain to parts of the region Friday morning, alongside cooler temperatures.

The AM hours of Friday saw a deep marine layer west of the mountains, which managed to produce some light rain in some communities. WeatherCurrents' stations in Anza and Fallbrook benefited the greatest, with totals of 0.08 inches at both stations. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, a total of 0.05 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). The cities of Temecula, Murrieta and Hemet received small amounts of precipitation Friday, while the remaining active WeatherCurrents stations did not record any measurable rainfall. Clouds had mostly lifted by the end of the day.

Offshore flow, expected to peak on Sunday, will take place along with seasonably cool temperatures and cold nights. An additional low pressure system is forecast to impact the region around mid-week, although rain chances, timing, and intensity remain uncertain at this time.
