By John C. Toman. Posted September 3, 2013, 6:35 AM.It remained hot and stick on Labor Day, with abundant clouds and scattered thunderstorms. There was a report of some damage in the San Jacinto area, near Cottonwood Avenue and Warren Road. A wind burst knocked out power, breaking some power lines, and destroyed a metal shed. It was accompanied by thunder. Thanks to Jon Adams for this report. Rainfall was recorded at two WeatherCurrents stations: in Anza (0.03") and in Hemet (Valle Vista) (0.01"). Other news reports had rainfall in other portions of the San Jacinto Valley, moving up in the eastern portion of Moreno Valley. Cloud cover continued overnight, and the humid, very warm weather was expected to continue. Moisture in the air is off the high amounts of the past few days, but thunderstorms are still a possibility in the inland valleys today, with chances running higher in the mountains and deserts. |
