Low pressure is compounding an already deep marine layer over the region this week, producing scattered showers and dark, gray skies.
Showers have somewhat favored foothill and mountain locations, however even typically drier communities such as Perris received notable amounts of rain. As of Tuesday evening, the only active WeatherCurrents stations to have not recorded measurable rainfall were Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Murrieta, Riverside (Presidential Park) and Simi Valley. Where rain was observed, amounts have ranged from 0.03 inches in Central Murrieta to 0.32 inches in Beaumont (Cherry Valley). A total of 0.12 inches was reported in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington), as well as 0.03 inches in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas). A clog in the rain gauge at Riverside (Orangecrest) voids the total of 0.06 inches recorded there.
The bulk of precipitation fell on Monday, with some residual showers into Tuesday in Beaumont. Ongoing chances of additional showers, while low, are forecast through Wednesday afternoon.
