A low pressure system moved inland across California and the Great Basin during the weekend, bringing a deep marine layer to Southern California and light rain to many areas.
Gusty winds and a deep, saturated marine layer brought light drizzle to many inland communities early Friday and Saturday mornings. This drizzle was measurable in some locations. A more widespread wave of showers moved through the region early Sunday morning, during which most of the storm's precipitation fell in the region. Where rain did fall, totals ranged from only 0.06 inches in East Hemet, up to 0.18 inches in South Fallbrook. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.19 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). Pinon Hills was the only WeatherCurrents station to not record any measurable rainfall from the storm, with its northerly and desert-facing location being further out of the storm's influence. Gusty winds were present throughout the day on Sunday immediately after the storm's passage, which led to mostly clear skies only hours after the rains had fallen.
Dry weather, along with a gradual warming trend, are in the forecast for the remainder of the week.
