Skies began to fill with clouds overnight Friday into Saturday, before a large surge of moisture arrived Saturday evening. Virtually everywhere in the Inland Empire received modest rainfall before midnight, with steady, heavier rain continuing through the first half of Sunday. All but one active WeatherCurrents stations recorded higher precipitation totals Sunday compared to Saturday, before rainfall began tapering off Sunday afternoon. Totals ranged from as high as 2.51 inches in East Hemet, down to 0.45 inches in Pinon Hills to the north. The majority of Inland communities received totals between 1 and 2.5 inches - while only Simi Valley did not record any measurable precipitation. The rain gauge at WeatherCurrents' station in the Canyon Crest neighborhood in Riverside was inoperable during the storm. A low pressure system dropping south over the Great Basin early this week is forecast to bring additional chances for showers and cool weather, primarily Monday into early Tuesday west of the mountains. Precipitation totals from this system are expected to be light, along with snow expected above 8000 feet above sea level. High pressure may bring Santa Ana Winds late in the week. Here are the rain totals for the WeatherCurrents network and associates:
