Unsettled weather in the wake of a wet rain season continued into the middle of May. May's second batch of rainfall in the inland valleys of Southern California led to moderate results, and put many communities above normal for the month.
The rainfall was significant, ranging from 0.19" in the Temecula Valley Wine Country to 0.73" in Fallbrook.
Most communities received between a quarter and third of an inch. The mountains received a fresh dusting of snow.
Other significant totals: 0.65" in De Luz, 0.54" in Lake Elsinore, 0.40" in Moreno Valley, 0.39" in San Bernardino, 0.37" in Wildomar and 0.36" in Menifee.
On the dry side for the storm were East San Jacinto (0.21"), Temecula (0.23"), and Hemet and Beaumont (0.26").
Like the last few storms, gusty winds came through as well. Wind gusts range from 20-30 mph.
Although some communities had recorded rainfall last weekend or the weekend before, for many it was the first measurable rainfall in over three weeks.
The storm was enough to put all WeatherCurrents communities above normal for the month. Normals for the month ranged from 0.19" (Menifee) to 0.45" (Lake Elsinore).
