By Jim Purpura. Posted November 28, 2011, 8:41 AM.After several days of near-record temperatures in the 70s and 80s, an abrupt end to the warm weather is forecast at the end of the week The storm system type is named an "inside slider" by forecasters. These types of storms generally bring less in the way of rain, but may bring strong cold Santa Ana winds and low snow levels. There still is some uncertainty in the storm track, but only light precipitation amounts are forecast for the Inland Empire and north San Diego County. For Simi Valley no rain is expected as the rain will be east of the area, but strong santa ana winds are expected. The santa ana winds are not quite as certain further east, but could affect northern areas, especially the San Bernardino and Santa Ana Mountains. Stay tuned for updated forecasts on this weather system. Jim Purpura Meteorologist WeatherCurrents jpurpura@weathercurrents.com |
