By Jim Purpura. Posted April 13, 2012, 2:30 PM.Heavy rain is moving across the Inland Empire...bringing the possibility of local flooding, especially to roadways and small streams. The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for portions of Orange, western Riverside, southwest San Bernardino, and northern San Diego counties until 4 pm. At 2:30 pm radar showed a line of the heaviest showers and storms from east of Yorba Linda...to east of Santa Ana...to off the coast southwest of Dana Point. The line is moving east at 40 mph while the individual cells were moving northeast at 35 mph. Look for rainfall of a quarter to half inch falling quickly in these showers and storms, producing local flooding of creeks and roadways. If you are approaching water of unknown depth...turn around...don't drown! |
