Daytime temperatures were chilly, reaching only into the 40's in most inland locations. Most of the day's highs were recorded in the very early morning at most of the WeatherCurrents stations. The daytime temperatures were probably minimum records (still unconfirmed) at most stations.

Southwest Riverside and San Diego counties experienced unstable air and moderate rainfall, with some areas recording half an inch or more.

Leading the way was Temecula, with 0.58" recorded by 5pm. Other areas with lots of rain were Hemet (0.55"), San Jacinto (0.50"), Fallbrook (0.38"), and Murrieta (0.31").

Other areas to the north, such as Lake Elsinore (0.03"), Riverside (0.01"), Moreno Valley (0.02") and Perris (0.07"), received only light rainfall.

A sample of mid-day highs: Temecula, 38.6°F; Hemet 36.9°F, Fallbrook, 41.2°F; Murrieta, 43.2°F; Lake Elsinore, 44.7°F; and Riverside, 46.2°F. Highs were 20 degrees or more below early morning predictions.

The cold daytime temperatures led to low snow levels in some of the local mountains, with snow falling in the Palomar Mountain range above 2,000 feet, but not quite reaching the Temecula Valley, an in the San Jacinto range above the San Jacinto Valley.

A chance isolated showers and thunderstorms was predicted Thursday evening as well before gusty offshore flow was expected to develop and push the storm system out of the region.
