A little out of season for this time of year, but the following photo is documentation of a snow event in the La Sierra area of Riverside in 1947.
The house in the photo was located on the corner of Arlington Ave. and Mitchell Street in the La Sierra area. The house is no longer there; in its place today is a horse corral. The outbuildings in the back, however, are still standing today.
The actual date of the snowfall is unknown.
Snow last visited the Riverside area on January 12, 2007.
Thanks to Patti Jo King for the photo and back story.
