More monsoon weather affects inland communities

By Reginald Stanley. Posted August 27, 2013, 12:58 PM.

A dying tropical disturbance moving north from Mexico contributed to an influx on monsoonal moisture over the weekend. Only Anza and Beaumont recorded rainfall, however light sprinkles were reported in Temecula, Wildomar and other areas. Anza recorded 1.10" inches of rain over two days, and another 0.10" on Friday. Rain was just barely enough to trigger the rain gauge at the Beaumont weather station on Monday, with 0.01".

Thunderstorms remain likely in the mountains and deserts today and tomorrow. Additional monsoonal moisture may lead to scattered thunderstorms west of the mountains on Thursday. Humidity and cloud cover associated with the monsoonal moisture has held temperatures up in the warm range even at night. The monsoon pattern is not expected to break until Sunday.
