3000 acre Camp Pendleton fire 80% contained Wednesday afternoon

According to the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, a fire that broke out during a live fire exercise on the base Tuesday was 80% contained by Wednesday afternoon after scorching 3000 acres. The fire begin at 10:15am Tuesday in Aliso Canyon in the central part of the base. The plume from the fire was visible across much of northern San Diego county Tuesday. |
