Sunday morning's wind gusts affect some communities, not others

Posted January 23, 2011, 9:59 PM.

Santa Ana winds blew once again in the inland valleys Sunday, although they were moderate and there were no reports of damage.

The winds were at their most intense from early morning to noon, covering Sunday morning. They were much more subdued by Sunday afternoon, although forecasts have them continuing (and decreasing) through Monday.

Among WeatherCurrents communities, the top gusts were 33 mph in Temecula (in the 9am hour), 32 mph in Riverside (in the 3am hour) and in Perris (8am hour), 27 mph in Menifee (11am hour), 26 mph in San Jacinto (6am hour), 23 mph in Moreno Valley (3am hour) and 21 mph (11am hour) in Murrieta.

Elsewhere, offshore winds were also present, but were not strong enough to be much a factor.
