Thermometers topped 100°F in the inland valleys Saturday as a high pressure system fueled hot temperatures.
Lake Elsinore led the way with 102°F. Menifee was next, recording a high temperature of 101°F, followed by Hemet at 100°F.
Several other WeatherCurrents locations, including Moreno Valley (98°F), Perris (98°F) and Wildomar (98°F), were in the upper 90's.
Locations with more coastal influence, including Fallbrook (77°F), De Luz (82°F), Temecula (90°F) and Murrieta (89°F), were much cooler.
Sunday was poised to repeat Saturday's heat, with perhaps the hottest locations coming in a degree or two cooler. |
